March marks the first true hint of Spring in our corner of Pennsylvania. The snow begins to loosen its hold, the hills soften back into shades of green, and talk around town turns to Mud Sales and maple syrup season. Down by the coop, the chickens greet the longer days with delighted chatter, stretching their wings into the returning sunlight as if they’ve been waiting all winter just for this moment.
Spring is the season of renewal—refreshing, restoring, and gently waking what has been resting. We see it in the land as fresh grass pushes through thawing soil, but we see it in this old house as well. After a quiet winter, the floors creak a little brighter, sunlight lingers longer in the windows, and life seems to return to every corner of the property. Rooms begin to fill again with familiar laughter from returning friends and warm introductions to new guests discovering the inn for the first time.
For us, March is also a season of joyful urgency. There are projects to finish, garden beds to plan, and menus to refresh. We experiment in the kitchen with new breakfast treats and old favorites made better, dreaming up small surprises that will make stays sweeter. We dream up new spaces to gather, new ways to rest, and new ways to serve the people who walk through our doors.
Each Spring reminds us that renewal isn’t only for fields and flowers—it’s for people, places, and purposes too. And we’re grateful to watch that renewal unfold here, one sunrise, one guest, one warm cup of coffee at a time.
... come see Spring arrive with us.
